Here is my uncomfortable political point of the day:
A few days ago, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez delivered an address to the U.N. General Assembly. During this speech he repeatedly insulted President G.W. Bush, at one point calling him "the devil".
Now the leaders of the Democratic party are upset that Chavez insulted Bush. For several quotes by Sen. Rangel, and Rep. Pelosi click here:

Here is my problem with the democratic party leadership....Haven't they spent the last 6 yrs insulting President Bush or his policies? Now they claim that is a privilege held only by American citizens! Also, if I understand Sen. Rangel, he is even more insulted that these remarks took place on U.S. soil. Is the U.N. HQ U.S. territory, or is it treated like an embassy where the building lies within the U.S. but isn't treated like U.S. soil?
Does this seem a tad inconsistent to anyone else?
Before answering, consider asking if, for example, the British would be angry if Bush insulted Blair's policies?
As always, commentary is welcome.

You better be careful, Paul, you sound like a Republican.
If you don't like your Pres you don't strike, you just go to the polls every year and do it really half a**ed thats the american way
Paul,
I don't think the anger was over what he said but the fact that is he taking advantage of freedoms we have over here to bash our president and country when he denies those very same freedoms to his own people! Also, it is representative Rangel, New Yorks Senators are Clinton and Schumer. Although I am pretty sure what Pelosi and Rangel said was cheap posturing as it is political season and that is all that both parties are really capable of doing right now!
