Blog Reconstruction and an update

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the new face of my blog! I know its not much different from the old face, but I finnally was able to take the background picture I wanted. As many an astute reader told me, my background picture was not of Chicago or Barrington...but of Logan, UT my former home.

Yesterday I had the chance to take this wonderful picture on from the edge of Navy Pier prior to the flower and garden show. I would name all the buildings for you if I could, but the only one I can name is the Sears Tower (right hand side, large white antennas on top).

I realize some of the font colors are not showing up quite right, and I will be trying to fix those as time goes by, and given my life these days....it could be awhile.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the Chicago Flower and Garden show. Enjoy!

This view is of an oriental garden that greeted visitors at the entrance, the long green things are bamboo.

This is is a small part of a garden that was sponsored by the University of Illinois, and was the best in show. The picture does not do the entire display any justice at all. The garden was huge and throughout demonstrated how people with arthritis could garden without pain, and even help them emotionally.

Bathtub and matching bathmat. Very cool display, I especially thought the use of peacock feathers was neat.

If I won the lotto today, this is what would be installed tommorrow. Its a cool looking gazebo, with stepping stones leading to a very large jacuzzi surrounded by tall fountains, and carefully concealed, well placed speakers.

This is supposed to be some sort of table...or at least I think so. Either way, very detailed, very neat looking arrangement.

This is part of the main display garden. It was supposed to be an Irish garden. This was a huge display, and the landscaping crew there said it took them a week to assemble it. Like most displays here, you were able to walk through the gardens themselves, and talk to the people who built them.

Lovely Pictures! But what about the crock pot event?

Nice to see your blog is finally geographically correct.

The crock pot event was tasty!

Christina and I made beef stew with onions, celery, baby carrots, mushrooms, a variety of spices and some non-alcoholic merlot.

After a long day of walking around, it was very good!

Wow, with FireFox your blog looks all wiggy. Guess I'll have to blow the dust of IE for yours. Nice pictures though.
