Before I get too far into this particular post I need to say Congrats to Amy and Jon on their engagement!! For those who don't know, links to their blogs are on the right hand side of this page (Ferrari and Emu buttons)!
Also, welcome to my Aunt Patsy and Uncle Rick to the blogosphere! They are spending some time in Germany and the link to their blog is the newest button to the right with the U.S. and German flags (Note to Patsy: if you'd like a different image let me know).
Of course my blog doesn't have cool photos of chapel ceilings in Rome. Mine is a Nebraska sunrise and a street sign. So for those who have been waiting.....here are the promised photos of a cool sunrise and John Galt Blvd. Please ignore the splotches on the images, the windshield of the truck killed many bugs on the way! I think my next photo set will be of my new apartment, my street, and some of the area around Barrington.
Anyway, I am sitting in the Barrington Area Library (http://www.barringtonarealibrary.org/), which so far has proven to be a quality establishment, with a fairly good speed wireless internet connection. This is what will allow me to post pics to the blog today! Speaking of pictures....be sure to check out Jake and Patsy's blogs for cool photos of the World Series and Rome.
I am settling in nicely into my new store. I am pretty bored most days though. This store has better staffing and about 1/3 the business of the N. Logan store. Hopefully I will find a better more intellectually stimulating job soon. To those who work at the N. Logan store and read this blog....be happy you're busy there. I'm not sure boredom and a slower store were the way to go.
Moreover, I am enjoying spending a lot more time with Christina, rather than being so far apart. This week, I have been hearing stories from Christina's parents about their experiences during&after hurricane Wilma. The pictures are pretty interesting. They had lots of photos of before the hurricane just having fun on vacation, then pictures during the storm in the shelter and afterwards looking at the destruction.
My apartment, or "the loft" as my Dad calls it....has a new resident. Christina's cat Biskit has joined me for the time being and seems to have settled in very nicely. I will have to include a picture of the cat too at some point.
Political news of the day (you knew this would happen).....I watched this morning on ABC as Bush announced Judge Alito to replace Justice O'Conner. Whether or not I agree with the pick is still an open question, I have not read a lot about him yet. However, I think he is immediately better than Ms. Miers. Judge Alito has at least been a judge for 15 yrs and has written court opinions!
Also, politically, I think "Scooter" Libby is simply the fall guy for the Bush Administration. I have to wonder if his perjury was an intentional plot to protect others inside the adminstration. Or it could just be that he lied because he really did something very wrong but the prosecutor cannot prove it beyond reasonable doubt.
I think that's about it for now. I will try to make more regular visits over here to post and show pictures. For now though, I think its time to go get a good book and see what it takes to get a library card!

I like hospitals.....
When did you become a cat person? Erin found an advert in a Logan newspaper for two free llamas.... can you imagine the look on Amy's face if she came home to find two llamas parked in the garage....
Paul,
Thanks for including us in your Blog directory. The flag is fine. A good book, you say? I recommend (light reading actually)
"Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn, and "My Ishmael", and "Beyond Civilization" also by Quinn. Very thought provoking.
Love, Aunt Pat
