This afternoon I remembered to download pictures from my camera! They have been accumulating there for awhile now and its time to share some!
First off, our next door neighbors gave us their old Weber grill (they were gifted with a new one)..... It now lives on the front porch. It could probably use a new grill grate, but otherwise pretty nice. Here is a photo of some grilled chicken and pineapple being cooked on the grill (it was tasty)!

The following images are the highlights of the Barrington 4th of July parade. Not much to look at, but there was well attended anyway (see below, left). Also, this old Barrington PD car made me think of the Blues Brothers films.

The Barrington parade did have some redeeming qualities. For instance, Christina's grandfather marched with his VFW post (no picture). The one and only actual decorated parade float was this duck. He was meant to advertise for some charity gig later on this summer. You can tell the marketing was effective by how much I remember! And any parade entry that has large flames just seems cool.

Then there were the odder points of the parade. I have no idea why this man dressed like this, but he did. Vikings can be patriotic right? And my town's parade had Alpacas. Did yours? I bet not.

Also, Christina went around the house and took some pictures of the new furniture...

The photo on the left is a china hutch we bought from a local resale shop, along with the hutch on the right. Both are in very good condition. Also pictured is the new water cooler we bought. The new dining room table and chairs are also visible.
Below is the oddest wedding present we received. I have no idea what to do with this swan. He came with the washclothes, and it looks out of place in just about every room in the house. Anyway, I also decided to share the swan for fun and because the image on the left shows the china hutch really well. Any suggestions on what to do with the swan? Also, the swan came from an extended relative who would expect it to be here if they were ever to visit.

Its a pretty quiet day here in Barrington. I have the day off of work and later this afternoon will be attending the 3rd annual Barrington Brew Fest (www.barringtonbrewfest.com), compliments of my employer. I will be taking my camera there as well, so maybe there will be good pictures of the brew fest later!

Signs of a happy house and happy times! As to the Swan, just name her MISS Swan, and you can't go wrong. Great job on the bargains. Looks like the place is taking shape!
