Very sorry about the lack of posting for almost a month, so here is a monster post for your reading pleasure!
Winter has arrived here in the Windy City. Apparently the amount of snow is a bit much a bit early. It looks like this weekend I will start moving over into the top floor of the duplex owned by Christina’s parents. Life here has been busy at work for Christina and I both. Christina has been working very hard hours at the flower shop. I have been at Wal-Mart, trying to fathom how some people in our society still function, given their lack of technical knowledge. 8 shopping days until Christmas, I can make it from here!
My latest reading project is The Federalist Papers (and the Anti-Federalist Papers). For those who are not familiar, these papers constitute the debate over whether or not to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787. The Federalist Papers were written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay. Initially they were published anonymously. My two favorite authors are Madison and Jay. Hamilton is pretty inefficient, but has some good moments. My two favorite passages so far are from #1 and #14 (note: 14 is by far the best article so far in its entirety, and I highly suggest its reading!)
From #1 (Hamilton)…“For, in politics as in religion, it is equally absurd to aim at making proselytes by fire and sword.” This struck my as something our current President could learn a lot from.
From #14 (Madison)…”Hearken not to the voice which petulantly tells you that the form of government recommended for your adoption is a novelty in the political world; that it rashly attempts what it is impossible to accomplish. No my countrymen, shut your ears against this unhallowed language. Shut your hearts against the poison which is conveys; the kindred blood which flows in the veins of American citizens, the mingled blood which they have shed in defence of their sacred rights, consecrate their union, and excite horror at the idea of their becoming aliens, rivals, enemies.”
I wish people still wrote like that.
The Lamda Song
Below, is the Lambda Song, it appears here compliments of Emma, fellow blogger from Australia. She initially commented on this blog during my correspondence with Senator Hatch. She got the Lambda Song from one of her friends. A ploy on the Llama song, only much geekier and very funny! I suggest singing it quietly while listening to the Llama song.

Awesome! I've rated an international shout-out.
Good to see you back in the blogsphere, Paul. And as to how people can survive with so little tech savvy.. they all have (or know someone with) a seven-year-old nephew who never needs to read the manual.
If you want some wonderful reading, try Burke's Reflections On The Revolution In France. Poeticism and contempt for revolution, all in one beautiful package.
